Lead the Way

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 30, 2026

Youthbridge Foundation ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Lead the Way mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

Lead the Way is a community impact tracking application designed to help students and individuals log observations about community needs, track volunteer and leadership activities, and generate portfolio reports summarizing their impact.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1

Information We Collect

Personal Information

The App collects limited personal information for personalization and portfolio generation purposes. This may include:

We do not collect
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Physical addresses
  • Login credentials or passwords
  • Profile photos
We only collect
  • Name
  • Grade level
  • User-created logs & metrics

Device Information

The App may access basic device-related information necessary for proper operation, such as device model, operating system version, screen resolution, and app version. This is used only to ensure the App functions properly and is not stored externally.

Location Information

The App does not collect or track precise GPS location data, and does not infer or store approximate location data.

Photo Library Permission

The App may request photo library write permission only to save PDF portfolio reports generated by the user. The App does not access existing photos, upload photos, use the camera, or access the microphone.

User-Created Content

Users may create and store content including Wonder Logs, action verbs, impact metrics, and portfolio reports. All of this is stored locally on the user's device — Youthbridge Foundation does not store or access this data on external servers.

2

How Information Is Used

Information is used only to support core app functionality: personalizing the experience, storing user-generated logs and metrics, tracking community impact, and generating portfolio reports.

We never use your data for
  • Advertising
  • Marketing emails
  • Selling data to third parties
3

Third-Party Technologies

Lead the Way is built using React Native, the Expo framework, expo-print, and expo-sharing. These tools enable app functionality but do not collect or store personal user data on external servers. The App does not use analytics services or advertising networks.

4

Data Sharing

Youthbridge Foundation does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties. Because user data is stored locally on the device, we do not maintain a central database containing user-generated data.

5

Data Storage

All user data is stored locally on the user's device using AsyncStorage. Youthbridge Foundation does not have access to user-generated data. Data may be removed if the App is deleted or the device storage is cleared. Users are responsible for managing and backing up any data they wish to retain.

6

Data Retention

Information remains on the device until the user deletes it or removes the App. Youthbridge Foundation does not retain copies of user-generated data. Users may export their data as PDF portfolio reports at any time.

7

User Controls

Users may manage their information directly within the App, including editing their name and grade level, editing or deleting logs and impact metrics, and exporting data as PDF reports. All stored data can be removed by deleting the App.

8

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information stored within the App. Because data is stored locally on the user's device, security depends on the device's own protections such as passcodes or biometric locks. Users are encouraged to keep their devices secure.

9

Children's Privacy

Lead the Way is designed for students and individuals tracking community engagement, leadership activities, and volunteer impact. The App collects only name and grade level, and all data is stored locally on the device.

If a parent or guardian has questions or concerns, please contact us at theyouthbridgefoundation@gmail.com.

10

Advertising

The App does not contain advertisements and does not use advertising networks or display third-party ads.

11

Payments and Purchases

The App does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, or payment processing. It is currently provided free of charge.

12

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When updates occur, the revised policy will be posted and the Effective Date will be updated. Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
